Lesson 1: Pick a clear offer

People hire a specific result, not a general skill.

Name the result

'Logo and business card design for new local businesses' is easier to buy than 'graphic design'. 'Move-out cleaning for renters' beats 'cleaning'. Specific offers are easier to price, describe and refer.

Who pays for it

Write down who has this problem, where they already spend money on it, and what happens if it doesn't get done. That's where your first clients come from.

Package it

Turn the work into one to three packages with a clear scope: what's included, how long it takes and what's extra. Packages make quoting faster and prevent scope creep.

Do this today

Write your offer in one sentence: I help [who] get [result] by [what you do].
