Write less, in your own words
Copying slides word for word skips the thinking. Write key ideas in your own words, with examples and anything the teacher repeats or stresses.
Use a question column
Split the page: notes on the right, questions in a narrow column on the left, and a two-line summary at the bottom. Review by covering the notes and answering the questions.
Review within 24 hours
A ten-minute pass the same day, filling gaps and adding questions, saves far more time later than it costs.
